maybe today

Fall came set in the blood
and bone and my marrow was
awakened by Morning’s gray,
leaking light, and you
were there,
where you belong.

the corners of my forest
are littered with
leaf circles,
arranged in particular
circumference, by
wind tendrils, wriggling
between the edges of tall
crisp grasses, distant
echos of Modern life float
effortless in and out
of the white noise
of Autumn.

in this quiet,
in sacred Ritual laid
out against a
dying green,
my body seeks
solace, ‘neath
the constant ember
sky, today veiled.
