when the Night comes

there is no need
to fear but it is
the dread in the
dark hours that
we all secretly
desire.

so spells cast
themselves wildly
in our minds

and even when pressed
against the one we love
we all endure
sleep, completely alone

we are all
widowed
when the
night comes.

  1. Evelyn says:

This is something you and I have talked about before.
Its also one of my greatest trembling moments, alone after.
    lovely.

  2. i love to read the poetic thoughts of others wandering those night hours… alone… you’ve placed them so gently on an invisible line catering to those emotions born at birth.. broken bonds… untied and widowed… yet breathing tied to a string… til death… you know in the old testament job speaks of this very thing so very eloquently… just as you have spoken here so lovingly intimate… it would be wonderful to hear a piano tune…. placed at midnight, maybe 2…. written lyrics played on the keys… just a few thoughts…

    • geezus Ms pie. your comment was better than the poem! love your insights, where you see things in me that I never saw.

as for the piano at midnight? i just may oblige you dear.
