The Nobility of Christmas Morn.

there are nobler pursuits
like world peace and space
exploration and curing

diseases – feeding the hungry,
clothing the naked, loving
the hurting.

for me, though, in this
infinitesimal moment all
my nobility can be found

in the smile of one
seven year old girl on
Christmas morning. what

could be more noble
than playing Santa Clause
one more time….?

  1. i love it. and the word “infinitesimal”…i havent seen that but one other time. a dear friends husband passed away from cancer and they used to say ‘i love you “infinitesimally”‘ and she had that put on his head stone.

    • oh i dont know. i dont think there is anything selfish about calling something that brings you pleasure…noble. Noble is, afterall, something possessing very high or excellent qualities….

so based on that, getting to play Santa, is in my book, quite noble.
