... music ..., ... poems ..., ... poetry ..., ... relationships ...

acoustics and starLight

there is a simple pleasure in

the docile tones of vibrating

steel in the cool evenings of May.

crickets and katydids surround

those strings and tones

with a twinkling timbre.

the distant trees provide the

lush reverb our voices make

as they tangle, only briefly, in

their dangling branches.

notes drip and fall from my

fingers like thick orbs of honey

from a ripened hive.

i play these things for you,

in the clear starlight,

to burn your ears and your heart

enough to let this

simple bee climb quickly

back into your hive.

the Moon hides her face on

these nights so that no one

thing is revealed by spotlight,

but rather, all things are

disguised in this dark light.

no one is special here.
